Gel Candle Fragrance - Candle Scent
IMPORTANT:
You can’t use just any fragrance in gel candles. There are some very important things to keep in mind here.
Flash Point: ( the temperature at which fragrance vapors will ignite ). You need a candle scent with a flash point of 170 degrees or higher for your gel candles. Make sure of this, if the flashpoint is too low it could be a safety hazard. Double check it!
Use ½ ounce of fragrance in 1 pound of low density gel.
Use ¾ ounce of fragrance in 1 pound of med. density gel.
Use 1 ounce of fragrance in 1 pound of high density gel.
These measurements are by weight not volume.
Make sure you purchase your gel candle scent from a reputable company. Some people will dilute it to make a little extra money. Here is my choice of companies for my fragrance oil: creativeilluminations
