Gel Candle Containers
The types of containers you can use are glass, metal and ceramic.
The most important safety factor here is to use glasses etc. that will not break or crack when exposed to heat. I usually make sure they are dishwasher safe.
A really thin martini or wine glass may break if left burning too long. Also if you have a glass that’s wide at the top and narrow at the bottom you can either put sand at the bottom of the container or string glass beads on the wick until they come up past the narrow part of the container. This will extinguish the flame before it reaches the narrow part of the glass.
Almost any good glassware
can be used. Do not use thin glass or glass that will not handle heat at a
temperature of 200 deg. F.
Make sure the type of
container you use is not one that is easy to tip over. Types of frequently
used glassware include: coffee mugs, ivy bowls, beer mugs, heavy wine
glasses, votives, jelly jars etc. Do not use plastic or wood containers.
